Yannick Schütte is a German photographer and visual artist based in Berlin. He is known for his unique style of photography, which combines elements of documentary, fashion, and fine art.
Schütte began his career as a freelance photographer in the early 2000s, shooting for various magazines and newspapers. His work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, GQ, and The New York Times. He has also exhibited his work in galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
In addition to his commercial work, Schütte has also created several personal projects that explore themes such as identity, memory, and place. His series “The Berlin Wall” (2009) documented the city’s transformation after the fall of the wall in 1989. His most recent project “The Unseen” (2018) focuses on people living on the margins of society in Germany.
Schütte’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (2010), World Press Photo Award (2011), and Hasselblad Masters Award (2015). He is currently represented by Galerie Esther Woerdehoff in Paris.
