Victor de Mello is a Brazilian photographer and visual artist who has been capturing the beauty of his homeland for over two decades. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1971, Victor developed an early passion for photography and began taking pictures of his family and friends at a young age.
He went on to study photography at the University of Rio de Janeiro, where he graduated with honors in 1994. After graduation, Victor began working as a freelance photographer, shooting for magazines and newspapers throughout Brazil. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and composition, which often featured vibrant colors and bold perspectives.
In 2000, Victor was invited to join the prestigious Magnum Photos agency, becoming one of the first Brazilian photographers to be accepted into the organization. Since then, he has traveled extensively throughout Brazil and Latin America, capturing stunning images of landscapes, people, and cultures that have been featured in numerous publications around the world.
Victor's work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe and North America, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. He has also received numerous awards for his photography, including the Leica Medal of Excellence in 2006 and the Hasselblad Masters Award in 2008.
Today, Victor continues to explore new ways to capture beauty through his lens while inspiring others to do the same. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge with aspiring photographers through workshops and lectures around Brazil.
