Tomas was born in Santiago, Chile in 1978. He studied photography at the University of Chile, where he graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, and Vogue Italia.

In addition to his editorial work, Tomas has also created several personal projects that explore themes such as identity, memory, and place. His series “The Memory of Place” was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago in 2017. He has also exhibited his work at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Modern in London.
