Timur Emek is a Turkish photographer and visual artist based in Istanbul. He is best known for his vibrant and colorful images of everyday life in Turkey.
Born in Istanbul in 1982, Timur Emek grew up surrounded by the vibrant culture of the city. From an early age, he was drawn to photography and began taking pictures of his friends and family. As he grew older, he developed a passion for capturing the beauty of everyday life in Turkey.
In 2004, Timur graduated from Mimar Sinan University with a degree in photography and visual arts. After graduation, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. His work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Guardian.
In addition to his commercial work, Timur has also created several personal projects that explore the culture of Turkey through his unique perspective. His series “Istanbul Through My Eyes” captures the beauty of the city through its people and places. He has also created several short films that explore the lives of everyday people living in Istanbul.
Timur’s work has been exhibited around the world including at galleries in London, New York City, Berlin, Tokyo, and Istanbul. He has also received numerous awards for his photography including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Photo Series (2015) and Best Documentary Series (2016).
Timur continues to capture the beauty of everyday life in Turkey through his photography and film projects. His work is a testament to his passion for capturing moments that are often overlooked or forgotten by others.
