Tim Barber is an American photographer and curator based in New York City. He is best known for his intimate portraits of everyday life, often featuring friends and family.
Barber was born in Los Angeles, California in 1975. He studied photography at the University of California, Santa Barbara before moving to New York City in 1998. After working as a freelance photographer for several years, he began to focus on his own personal work. His first solo exhibition was held at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2002.
Since then, Barber has had numerous solo exhibitions around the world, including shows at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
