Thomas Wiedenhofer is a German photographer and filmmaker based in Berlin. He is best known for his documentary photography, which often focuses on social issues and the human condition.
Born in 1979, Thomas grew up in a small town near Munich. From an early age, he was fascinated by the power of photography to capture moments and tell stories. After graduating from high school, he moved to Berlin to pursue his passion for photography.
In Berlin, Thomas began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and ability to capture the essence of his subjects. He has since become one of Germany’s most respected photographers, with his work appearing in publications such as Stern Magazine, Die Zeit, and Der Spiegel.
In addition to his editorial work, Thomas has also produced several documentary films about social issues in Germany and abroad. His films have been screened at festivals around the world and have won numerous awards including the German Film Award for Best Documentary Film (2012).
Thomas continues to explore new ways of telling stories through photography and film. He is currently working on a project about refugees in Europe which will be released later this year.
