Svenja Pitz is a German photographer and visual artist based in Berlin. She is known for her unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of nature, architecture, and the human form.
Pitz began her career as a freelance photographer in 2008, after studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld. Since then, she has worked on numerous projects for clients such as Adidas, Mercedes-Benz, and Vogue Germany. Her work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, GQ Germany, and Elle Germany.
In addition to her commercial work, Pitz has also created several personal projects that explore themes of identity and belonging. Her series “The Other Side” was exhibited at the Museum für Fotografie in Berlin in 2017. In 2019 she released her first book “The Unseen” which features photographs from her travels around the world.
Pitz’s work has been recognized with several awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Fine Art Series (2018) and the Sony World Photography Award (2019). She is currently represented by Galerie Esther Woerdehoff in Paris.
