Steven Lippman is an award-winning photographer and director whose work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, and The New York Times. He has also directed music videos for artists such as Mariah Carey, John Legend, and Alicia Keys.
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1965, Steven Lippman developed an interest in photography at a young age. He studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and began his career as a freelance photographer for magazines such as Rolling Stone and Spin.
In the early 2000s, Steven Lippman began to focus on fashion photography and portraiture. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine, and The New York Times Magazine. He has also photographed celebrities such as Madonna, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and many more.
In addition to his photography work for magazines and advertising campaigns for brands such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton; Steven Lippman has also directed music videos for artists including Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” (2005), John Legend’s “Ordinary People” (2005), Alicia Keys’ “No One” (2007), and Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” (2011).
Steven Lippman is the recipient of numerous awards including the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Applied Photography (2006) and the Lucie Award for Music Video Director of the Year (2008). His work is held in permanent collections at institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
