Steven Brahms is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He has been shooting professionally for over 20 years, and his work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and Vanity Fair.
Brahms was born in New York City and grew up in the suburbs of Long Island. He developed an interest in photography at a young age, and began taking pictures of his friends and family with a 35mm camera he received as a gift from his parents. After graduating high school, he attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where he studied photography and film.
After college, Brahms moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in photography. He quickly established himself as one of the city's top photographers, shooting for clients such as Nike, Adidas, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. His work has been featured on billboards around the world and has won numerous awards including the International Photography Awards (IPA) for Best Advertising Photographer of the Year (2015).
In addition to commercial work, Brahms also produces personal projects that explore themes such as identity, culture, and social issues. His work has been exhibited at galleries around the world including The Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles and The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
Brahms is passionate about giving back to his community through his art. He regularly volunteers with organizations such as Art Share LA which provides free art classes to underserved youth in Los Angeles.
