Steffen Hofemann is a German photographer and filmmaker based in Berlin. He has been working in the field of photography for over 20 years, specializing in documentary, portrait, and landscape photography.
Hofemann was born in Berlin in 1975 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. His father was a painter and his mother was a sculptor, so it's no surprise that he developed an interest in the visual arts at an early age. He began taking photographs as a teenager, and soon realized that this was his true passion.
In 1998, Hofemann graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld with a degree in photography. After graduation, he moved to Berlin to pursue his career as a professional photographer. Since then, he has worked on numerous projects for magazines, newspapers, advertising campaigns, and other clients around the world.
Hofemann's work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Stern Magazine, GEO Magazine, Der Spiegel Magazine, and many more. He has also exhibited his work at galleries around Europe including the Museum of Photography in Berlin and the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna.
In addition to his photographic work, Hofemann is also an accomplished filmmaker. He has directed several short films which have been screened at film festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. His most recent film "The Last Day" won Best Short Film at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival.
Hofemann continues to push boundaries with his work by exploring new techniques and technologies to create unique images that capture moments of beauty or emotion with clarity and precision.
