Sang-Arun Champawan is a Thai photographer and visual artist based in Bangkok. He is best known for his unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of traditional Thai culture with modern techniques.
Born in Bangkok in 1975, Sang-Arun developed an interest in photography at an early age. He began taking pictures of his family and friends, as well as the city around him. After graduating from high school, he attended the prestigious Chulalongkorn University where he studied photography and visual arts.
In 2000, Sang-Arun began working as a professional photographer for various magazines and newspapers in Thailand. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and composition. He has since become one of the most sought-after photographers in Thailand, shooting for both local and international clients.
Sang-Arun's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). His photographs have also been published in several books, including "Thai Photographers" (2005) and "The Art of Seeing" (2008).
In addition to his photographic work, Sang-Arun is also an active member of the Thai art community. He regularly participates in workshops and lectures on photography and visual arts at universities throughout Thailand. He also serves as a mentor to aspiring photographers who are looking to hone their craft.
