Ryubun Yamashita is a Japanese photographer and visual artist who has been creating stunning images for over two decades. Born in Tokyo in 1971, Ryubun was inspired by the works of renowned photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. He began his career as a freelance photographer in the early 1990s, shooting for magazines and newspapers.
In 2000, Ryubun released his first book of photographs, “Tokyo: A City of Contrasts” which showcased his unique vision of the city. His work has since been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, and National Geographic. He has also exhibited his work at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
Ryubun’s photography is characterized by its vivid colors and dynamic compositions that capture the energy of everyday life. He often uses long exposures to create dreamlike scenes that blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
