Rahi Rezvani is an Iranian-born photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his documentary photography, which often focuses on the lives of people living in the Middle East and North Africa.
Rezvani was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to the United States at the age of 16. He studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications including The New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, and Time Magazine.
In 2010, Rezvani released his first book of photographs titled "Iran: A Portrait of Its People." The book was well-received by critics and won several awards including the International Photography Award for Best Documentary Book.
In addition to his photography work, Rezvani has also directed several short films about life in Iran. His films have been screened at festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. In 2017, he released his first feature-length documentary film titled "The Last Days of Winter," which follows a group of Iranian refugees living in Turkey.
Rezvani's work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums such as The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and The Getty Museum in Los Angeles. He continues to work as a freelance photographer and filmmaker while also teaching workshops on documentary photography around the world.
