Prue Ruscoe is an award-winning Australian photographer and author. She has been capturing the beauty of Australia for over 30 years, and her work has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Guardian.
Prue was born in Sydney, Australia in 1965. She developed a passion for photography at a young age, and began taking pictures of her family and friends. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Sydney where she studied photography and art history.
In 1989, Prue moved to Melbourne to pursue her career as a professional photographer. She quickly established herself as one of the leading photographers in the city, shooting for magazines such as Vogue Australia and Harper’s Bazaar. Her work also appeared in advertising campaigns for major brands such as Nike and Coca-Cola.
In 2000, Prue released her first book “The Landscape of Australia” which showcased her stunning photographs of the country’s diverse landscapes. The book was an instant success and won numerous awards including the Australian Book Industry Award for Best Photography Book of the Year.
Since then Prue has released several more books including “The People of Australia” (2005) which focused on portraits of everyday Australians; “The Wildlife of Australia” (2008) which featured images of native animals; and “The Coastline of Australia” (2012) which documented the country’s stunning coastline.
Prue continues to travel around Australia capturing its beauty through her lens. Her work has been exhibited in galleries around the world including London's National Portrait Gallery and New York's Museum of Modern Art.
Prue is passionate about sharing her love for photography with others through teaching workshops at universities across Australia as well as online courses on platforms such as Skillshare and Udemy.
