Porus Vimadalal is an award-winning Indian photographer and filmmaker. He was born in Mumbai, India in 1975 and has been passionate about photography since his childhood. He studied photography at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai and went on to pursue a career in the field.

Vimadalal has worked as a freelance photographer for various publications, including The Times of India, The Hindu, and Outlook Magazine. He has also worked as a photojournalist for the Associated Press and Reuters news agencies. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.

In addition to his photography work, Vimadalal is also an accomplished filmmaker. He has directed several short films that have been screened at film festivals around the world, including Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. His feature-length documentary film “The Unheard” won several awards at international film festivals, including Best Documentary Feature at the Los Angeles International Film Festival in 2018.

Vimadalal’s work focuses on social issues such as poverty, gender inequality, and human rights violations. His photographs have been used to raise awareness about these issues and to inspire positive change in society.
