Philipp Raheem is an award-winning photographer and visual artist based in London. He has been capturing stunning images of the world around him since he was a child, and his work has been featured in numerous publications, galleries, and exhibitions.
Raheem was born in Germany and grew up in a small town near Frankfurt. He developed an early interest in photography, which he pursued throughout his teenage years. After graduating from high school, he moved to London to study photography at the University of Westminster. During this time, he developed a passion for documentary photography and began to explore the city’s diverse cultures and communities.
After graduating from university, Raheem began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and galleries. His work has been featured in The Guardian, The New York Times Magazine, The British Journal of Photography, and many other publications. He has also exhibited his work at numerous galleries around the world including the Tate Modern in London and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
Raheem’s work is characterized by its vivid colors and intimate portraits of everyday life. His photographs often capture moments that are both beautiful and poignant; moments that tell stories about people’s lives that are often overlooked or forgotten. His work has earned him numerous awards including the Sony World Photography Award for Documentary Photography (2018) and the Magnum Photos Graduate Photographers Award (2019).
Today, Raheem continues to explore new ways to tell stories through his photography while also teaching workshops on documentary photography around the world. He is passionate about using his art to bring attention to social issues such as poverty, inequality, racism, and climate change.
