Peter Stigter is an internationally renowned fashion photographer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has been shooting fashion for over 20 years and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and GQ.
Stigter was born in Amsterdam in 1971 and grew up surrounded by art and photography. His father was a painter and his mother was a photographer, so it's no surprise that he developed an interest in photography at an early age. He began taking pictures of his friends and family when he was just a teenager.
In 1994, Stigter graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague with a degree in photography. After graduation, he moved to Paris to pursue his career as a fashion photographer. He quickly gained recognition for his unique style of shooting which combined classic portraiture with modern fashion trends.
Throughout his career, Stigter has shot for some of the world's most prestigious magazines and brands including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Hugo Boss and many more. His work has been featured on the covers of Vogue Italia and Elle France as well as numerous international campaigns for major brands such as Nike and Adidas.
In addition to his commercial work, Stigter is also known for his personal projects which often explore themes such as identity and gender roles within society. His work has been exhibited around the world including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Stigter continues to push boundaries with his photography while staying true to his signature style which combines classic portraiture with modern fashion trends.
