Pedro Podesta is a Chilean photographer and visual artist whose work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. He was born in Santiago, Chile in 1971 and grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Andes Mountains.

He began his career as a photographer in the early 1990s, working for various magazines and newspapers. His work soon gained recognition for its unique style, which combines elements of documentary photography with surrealism. He has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, capturing images of everyday life that often reveal hidden stories and emotions.

In addition to his photographic work, Pedro has also created video installations and multimedia projects that explore themes such as identity, memory, and displacement. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago, Chile; The Museum of Modern Art in New York; The National Gallery of Canada; The Centre Pompidou in Paris; and The Tate Modern in London.

Pedro's photographs have been published in books such as "The Chilean Photobook" (2006) and "The Chilean Photographers" (2008). He is also a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos agency. In 2020 he was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship for his ongoing project on migration from Latin America to Europe.

Pedro currently lives between Santiago de Chile and Madrid, Spain where he continues to create powerful images that explore themes of identity, memory, displacement, and belonging.
