Pascal Gambarte is a French photographer and visual artist based in Paris. He is known for his unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of surrealism, abstraction, and minimalism.
Gambarte began his career as a photographer in the early 2000s, working with fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle. His work has since been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, and Harper's Bazaar. He has also exhibited his work in galleries around the world, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
In addition to his commercial work, Gambarte has also created several personal projects that explore themes of identity and memory. His series “The Memory of Water” (2008) was inspired by his childhood memories of swimming in the Mediterranean Sea near his hometown of Marseille. His most recent project “The Unseen” (2018) is an exploration of the unseen aspects of everyday life that are often overlooked or forgotten.
Gambarte's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) Gold Award for Fine Art Photography (2009), the International Photography Awards (IPA) Honorable Mention for Fine Art Photography (2010), and the Sony World Photography Awards Professional Shortlist for Fine Art Photography (2011).
Gambarte continues to push boundaries with his photography by exploring new techniques and concepts. He is currently working on a new project that will be released later this year.
