Norman Jean Roy is an American photographer and director who has been working in the fashion and beauty industry for over two decades. He is best known for his iconic portraits of celebrities, models, and musicians, as well as his work in advertising campaigns for major brands.
Born in New York City in 1969, Roy grew up with a passion for photography. He began taking pictures at a young age and eventually attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. After graduating, he worked as an assistant to renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel before launching his own career.
Throughout his career, Roy has shot for some of the world’s most prestigious magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Vanity Fair, and W Magazine. His work has also been featured in advertising campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein, Estée Lauder, L’Oréal Paris, and Maybelline New York.
In addition to his commercial work, Roy has also directed music videos for artists such as Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. He has also collaborated with numerous charities including the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Roy currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. He continues to be one of the most sought-after photographers in the industry today.
