Naho Kubota is a Japanese-born photographer and visual artist based in New York City. She is known for her vibrant and colorful images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.

Kubota was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1983. She studied photography at the Tokyo College of Photography, where she graduated with a degree in photography in 2006. After graduating, she moved to New York City to pursue her career as a photographer.

Kubota's work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Vogue Japan, and Harper's Bazaar Japan. Her photographs have also been exhibited at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

Kubota's work often focuses on themes of identity, culture, and nature. She has traveled extensively throughout Asia to capture images that explore these themes. Her photographs are characterized by their vivid colors and unique perspectives that capture the beauty of everyday life.

Kubota is also an active member of the photography community in New York City. She regularly participates in workshops and lectures at various institutions such as The International Center of Photography (ICP) and The School of Visual Arts (SVA). In addition to her photographic work, Kubota also teaches classes on photography at SVA.

Kubota's work has been recognized with numerous awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Series in 2017 and 2018, as well as being named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch in 2019.
