Mona Kuhn is a Brazilian-born, Los Angeles-based photographer whose work focuses on the human form and its relationship to nature. She has been widely acclaimed for her intimate portraits of people in their natural environment, often featuring nude or semi-nude subjects.

Kuhn was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1969. She studied photography at the University of California, San Diego and later earned an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. After graduating, she moved to Paris where she worked as a freelance photographer for several years before relocating to Los Angeles in 2001.

Kuhn's work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the International Center of Photography in New York City. Her photographs have also been published in books such as Private (2003), Evidence (2005), Native (2008), Bordeaux Series (2010), and She Disappeared into Complete Silence (2014).

Kuhn's work has been praised for its ability to capture both beauty and vulnerability. Her photographs often feature dreamlike landscapes that evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing. Through her images, Kuhn seeks to explore themes such as identity, memory, and connection with nature.
