Miep Jukkema is a Dutch photographer who has been capturing the beauty of the world for over 30 years. She has traveled extensively, visiting places such as India, South Africa, and the United States. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic and The New York Times.

Miep was born in Amsterdam in 1965 and grew up surrounded by art and culture. She developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures at a young age. After graduating from high school, she attended the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague where she studied photography and graphic design.

In 1989, Miep moved to New York City to pursue her career as a professional photographer. She quickly established herself as one of the city’s most sought-after photographers, shooting for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. In addition to her commercial work, Miep also pursued her own personal projects which focused on capturing the beauty of everyday life around the world.

Throughout her career, Miep has won numerous awards for her work including a World Press Photo Award in 2002 for her series “The Faces of India” which documented life in rural India. In 2010 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Royal Academy of Art for her contributions to photography.

Today Miep continues to travel around the world capturing stunning images that tell stories about people and places that are often overlooked by mainstream media outlets. Her work is held in private collections around the world and continues to inspire photographers everywhere.
