Michael Filonow

Michael Filonow is a Canadian photographer and filmmaker based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has been shooting professionally since the early 2000s, and his work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Guardian.

Michael's passion for photography began at a young age when he was given his first camera by his father. He quickly developed an eye for capturing the beauty of nature and the human experience. After graduating from high school, Michael attended the University of British Columbia where he studied film production and photography.

Since then, Michael has traveled extensively throughout Canada and around the world to capture stunning images of landscapes, wildlife, and people. His work has been featured in numerous books and magazines as well as on television shows such as National Geographic's "Wild Canada" series. He is also an active member of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP).

Michael's work is characterized by its vivid colors and unique perspectives. He often uses long exposures to capture light trails or star trails in night sky photographs. His images are often accompanied by stories that provide insight into the lives of those he photographs or the places he visits.

In addition to his photography career, Michael also works as a filmmaker producing documentaries about conservation issues around the world. He is passionate about using his art to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire people to take action for a better future.
