Max Abadian is a Canadian photographer and director based in Toronto. He has been shooting professionally for over 15 years, and his work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, and Vanity Fair.
Max was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Canada with his family at the age of seven. He grew up in Toronto and developed an early interest in photography. After graduating from high school, he attended Ryerson University where he studied photography and film.
Max’s career began when he started shooting for local magazines and newspapers. His work quickly gained recognition and he was soon shooting for major publications such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, Vanity Fair, and many others. His work has also been featured in advertising campaigns for brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and more.
In addition to his commercial work Max has also directed several short films which have been screened at festivals around the world including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). He is currently working on a feature-length documentary about the Iranian diaspora which is set to be released later this year.
Max’s photography is characterized by its vibrant colors and bold compositions. His images often capture moments of beauty that are both intimate and powerful. He continues to push boundaries with his work while staying true to his roots as an Iranian-Canadian artist.
