Matus Toth is a Slovakian photographer and visual artist based in Bratislava. He is best known for his unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of surrealism, abstraction, and minimalism.
Toth began his career as a freelance photographer in 2010, working on various projects for clients such as magazines, advertising agencies, and fashion labels. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Vogue Italia, Elle Magazine, and Harper's Bazaar.
In 2013, Toth released his first solo exhibition titled "The Unseen" at the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava. The exhibition showcased a series of photographs that explored the concept of the unseen world around us. The exhibition was met with critical acclaim and was featured in several international publications.
Since then, Toth has gone on to create several other exhibitions including "The Unseen II" (2015), "The Unseen III" (2017), and "The Unseen IV" (2019). He has also collaborated with various artists on projects such as "The Unseen V" (2020) which was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna.
Toth's work has been exhibited internationally at galleries such as the Saatchi Gallery in London and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. He has also been awarded several prestigious awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Fine Art Series (2016) and the Sony World Photography Award for Best Fine Art Series (2018).
Toth continues to push boundaries with his photography by exploring new concepts and techniques while staying true to his unique style. His work is an exploration of our relationship with nature, technology, and our own inner worlds.
