Matias Troncoso is a Chilean photographer and visual artist based in Santiago, Chile. He is best known for his work in documentary photography, which often focuses on social issues and the human condition.
Troncoso was born in Santiago, Chile in 1982. He studied photography at the University of Chile, where he graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer and has since worked with various publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and National Geographic.
Troncoso's work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the International Center of Photography in New York City. His photographs have also been featured in numerous books and magazines including Time Magazine, The New Yorker, and Vogue.
