Martin Schoeller is an internationally renowned portrait photographer whose work has been featured in publications such as The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone. He is known for his close-up portraits of celebrities and everyday people alike, often using a wide-angle lens to capture the subject’s unique features.

Born in Germany in 1968, Schoeller moved to New York City in 1994 to pursue a career in photography. After working as an assistant for Annie Leibovitz, he began shooting for magazines such as GQ and Esquire. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and approach to portraiture.

In 1998, Schoeller published his first book of photographs entitled Close Up: Portraits of the Famous and Infamous. The book featured portraits of celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and President Bill Clinton. It was met with critical acclaim and established Schoeller as one of the most sought-after portrait photographers in the world.

Since then, Schoeller has continued to produce stunning portraits of famous figures from all walks of life. His work has been exhibited at galleries around the world including the International Center of Photography in New York City and the National Portrait Gallery in London. He has also received numerous awards including a Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Portraiture (2008) and a Hasselblad Masters Award (2009).
