Mariya Peppelanova is a Russian photographer and visual artist based in Moscow. She is best known for her surreal and dreamlike images that explore the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
Born in Moscow in 1988, Mariya Peppelanova developed an interest in photography at an early age. She studied photography at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, graduating with a degree in Visual Arts in 2011. After graduation, she began to pursue her passion for photography full-time, working as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands.
In 2013, Mariya Peppelanova released her first solo exhibition titled “Dreams of Reality” which showcased her surrealist style of photography. Since then, she has gone on to exhibit her work at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Saatchi Gallery in London. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and The New York Times Magazine.
Mariya Peppelanova’s work often explores themes of identity, femininity, and nature through dreamlike imagery that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. Her photographs are characterized by their vibrant colors, surreal compositions, and ethereal atmosphere. In addition to her photographic work, Mariya also creates video art installations which explore similar themes as her photographs but with a more abstract approach.
