Mario Sorrenti is an Italian-American fashion photographer who has been shooting for the world's top magazines and brands since the early 1990s. Born in Naples, Italy in 1971, he moved to New York City at the age of 17 to pursue a career in photography.
Sorrenti's career began when he was hired as an assistant to fashion photographer Steven Meisel. He quickly developed his own style and soon began shooting for magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and W Magazine. His work has also been featured in campaigns for major brands such as Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Prada.
In addition to his commercial work, Sorrenti has also created several personal projects including a series of photographs of his sister Kate Moss that were published in the book "Mario Testino: Kate". He has also collaborated with artists such as Bjork and Lady Gaga on music videos and album covers.
Sorrenti is known for his ability to capture intimate moments between models and create powerful images that evoke emotion. His work has been exhibited around the world including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. He currently lives and works in New York City.
