Mario Schmolka is a renowned photographer from Germany. He was born in Berlin in 1965 and has been taking photographs since he was a child. His passion for photography began when he received his first camera as a gift from his parents at the age of 10.
He studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany, and graduated with honors in 1988. After graduation, he worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. He also worked as an assistant to several well-known photographers, including Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh.
In 1994, Mario opened his own studio in Berlin where he specialized in fashion and portrait photography. His work has been featured in numerous publications such as Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, and many more. He has also photographed celebrities such as Madonna, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and many others.
Mario's work is known for its unique style which combines traditional techniques with modern digital technology. He often uses natural light to create stunning images that capture the beauty of his subjects. His photographs have won numerous awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Fashion Photographer in 2006 and the Hasselblad Masters Award for Best Portrait Photographer in 2008.
Mario continues to work as a freelance photographer today and is based out of Berlin where he lives with his wife and two children.
