Marijana Gligic is a Serbian-born photographer and visual artist based in Toronto, Canada. She has been creating art for over 20 years, and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications around the world.
Marijana was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1975. She studied photography at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia before moving to Toronto in 2000. Since then, she has worked as a freelance photographer and visual artist. Her work focuses on themes of identity, memory, and the human condition.
Marijana's photographs have been exhibited at galleries and museums around the world including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Serbia; The Photographers' Gallery in London; The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; The National Gallery of Canada; The Museum of Modern Art in New York City; and many more. Her work has also been featured in publications such as Harper's Bazaar, Vogue Italia, Marie Claire Magazine, Elle Magazine, and more.
In addition to her photography career, Marijana is also an active member of the Toronto arts community. She is a founding member of the Toronto Photography Collective (TPC), which works to promote photography as an art form through exhibitions and workshops. She is also a mentor for emerging photographers through TPC's mentorship program.
Marijana's work continues to be exhibited around the world and she remains an active member of the Toronto arts community.
