Malin Henningsson is a Swedish photographer and visual artist based in Stockholm. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.

Malin was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1982. She studied photography at the University of Gothenburg, graduating with a degree in 2006. After graduation, she began working as a freelance photographer, shooting for various magazines and newspapers. Her work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Vogue Italia, and The Guardian.

In 2010, Malin was awarded the prestigious Hasselblad Foundation Grant for her project “The Human Landscape” which explored the relationship between people and their environment through photographs taken in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. This project was later published as a book in 2012.

In addition to her photographic work, Malin has also exhibited her artwork internationally at galleries such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg. Her work has also been featured at festivals such as Les Rencontres d’Arles in France and Photoville in Brooklyn.

Malin’s work is characterized by its strong sense of composition and its ability to capture subtle moments of beauty within everyday life. Her photographs often explore themes of identity, belonging and connection to place. Through her work she seeks to create an intimate dialogue between viewer and subject that encourages reflection on our shared humanity.
