Malerie Marder is an American photographer and artist based in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her intimate portraits of women and her exploration of the female body.

Marder was born in Los Angeles in 1971 and grew up in a family of photographers. She studied photography at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned her BFA in 1993. After graduating, she moved to New York City to pursue a career as a professional photographer.

Marder's work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. Her photographs have also been exhibited at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).

In addition to her photography work, Marder has also written several books on photography including "The Body: Photographs of Women" (1998) and "The Female Nude: Photographs from the 1970s" (2002). She has also taught workshops on photography at institutions such as the International Center for Photography in New York City.

Marder's work is often described as intimate and sensual, exploring themes such as identity, sexuality, and femininity.
