Liu Song is a Chinese photographer and visual artist based in Beijing. He is best known for his unique approach to photography, which combines traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern digital techniques.
Born in Beijing in 1982, Liu Song developed an interest in photography at an early age. He studied photography at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, where he graduated with a degree in photography and video art. After graduation, he worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.
In 2010, Liu Song began to focus on his own personal work, exploring the relationship between traditional Chinese culture and modern life. His work has been exhibited widely throughout China and internationally, including at the Shanghai Biennale (2012), the Guangzhou Triennial (2014), and the International Center of Photography (2015).
Liu Song's photographs often feature everyday scenes from urban life in China, capturing moments of beauty amidst the chaos of modernity. His work has been praised for its ability to capture both the beauty and complexity of contemporary Chinese culture. In addition to his photographic work, Liu Song also creates video installations that explore similar themes.
