Lincoln Pilcher is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He has been shooting professionally since the early 2000s, and his work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, and The Guardian.
Pilcher's passion for photography began at a young age when he received his first camera as a gift from his parents. He quickly developed a love for capturing the beauty of the world around him. After graduating from high school, he attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California where he earned a degree in Professional Photography.
Since then, Pilcher has traveled extensively to capture stunning images of landscapes and cultures around the world. His work has taken him to places such as India, Nepal, South Africa, and Antarctica. He is particularly known for his aerial photography which captures unique perspectives of the world below.
In addition to his photography work, Pilcher is also an accomplished filmmaker. His films have been screened at festivals around the world including Cannes Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival. He has also directed music videos for artists such as John Legend and The Black Keys.
Pilcher's work has earned him numerous awards including a World Press Photo Award in 2011 for his series on India's disappearing rivers. In 2017 he was named one of PDN's 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch by Photo District News Magazine.
Today Pilcher continues to travel the world capturing stunning images that tell stories about people and places that are often overlooked or forgotten by mainstream media outlets.
