Lilian Marie Merila is a professional photographer based in Los Angeles, California. She has been taking photographs since she was a young girl, and her passion for photography has only grown over the years.
Lilian was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in the Bay Area. She attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography. After graduating, Lilian moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a professional photographer.
Since then, Lilian has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle Magazine. Her work has been featured on billboards and magazine covers around the world. She is known for her unique style which combines fashion and fine art photography.
In addition to her commercial work, Lilian also works on personal projects that explore themes such as identity, beauty, and femininity. Her work has been exhibited at galleries around the world including The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and The Getty Center in Los Angeles.
Lilian is passionate about giving back to her community and regularly volunteers with local organizations that support women’s rights and education initiatives. In 2020 she was awarded an honorary doctorate from The Academy of Art University for her contributions to photography and philanthropy.
Lilian continues to push boundaries with her photography while inspiring others to follow their dreams no matter what obstacles they may face along the way.
