Li He is a Chinese photographer and visual artist based in Beijing. He was born in 1985 and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2008.
He has exhibited his work internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai, the National Art Museum of China, and the Guangdong Museum of Art. His work has also been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, and TIME Magazine.
Li He's photography focuses on capturing everyday life in China. His images often feature people from all walks of life, from farmers to city dwellers. He is particularly interested in exploring how people interact with their environment and how they are affected by rapid urbanization.
In addition to his photography, Li He also works as a curator and educator. He has curated exhibitions for galleries around the world and taught workshops on photography at universities across China.
Li He's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Chinese Contemporary Photography Award (2015) and the International Photography Award (2016). His photographs have been collected by institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the National Gallery of Canada.
