Kit Bencharongkul is a Thai photographer and visual artist based in Bangkok. He is best known for his unique style of photography, which combines elements of traditional Thai culture with modern digital techniques.
Born in Bangkok in 1982, Kit was exposed to photography from an early age. His father was a professional photographer and his mother was an avid amateur photographer. This early exposure to the art form sparked Kit’s interest in photography and he began taking pictures at the age of 12.
In 2003, Kit graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a degree in Visual Communication Design. After graduation, he worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers before eventually launching his own studio in 2006. Since then, he has become one of Thailand’s most sought-after photographers, shooting for clients such as Nike, Adidas, Samsung, and many more.
Kit’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City and the National Gallery of Thailand. He has also won several awards including the prestigious Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) Gold Award for his series “The Beauty of Thailand” in 2011.
In addition to his commercial work, Kit is also passionate about documenting traditional Thai culture through his personal projects. He has traveled extensively throughout Thailand to capture its unique beauty and culture through his lens. His work has been published in books such as “Thailand: A Photographic Journey” (2012) and “Thailand: A Visual Exploration” (2015).
Kit continues to push boundaries with his photography by combining traditional techniques with modern digital tools to create stunning images that capture the essence of Thailand’s culture and beauty.
