Kerem Yilmaz is a Turkish photographer and visual artist based in Istanbul. He is best known for his unique style of photography, which combines elements of documentary, street, and fine art photography.
Yilmaz was born in Istanbul in 1985 and began taking photographs at an early age. He studied photography at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul, graduating with a degree in Photography and Video Art. After graduation, he worked as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands before launching his own studio in 2011.
Yilmaz’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including the Istanbul Biennial, the Venice Biennale, and the New York Photo Festival. His photographs have also been published in magazines such as National Geographic, TIME Magazine, The New Yorker, and Vogue Italia.
Yilmaz’s work focuses on themes of identity and belonging within contemporary Turkish society. His photographs often explore the complexities of life in modern Turkey through intimate portraits of everyday people.
