Kelly Klein is an American photographer and filmmaker best known for her iconic fashion and celebrity photography. Born in New York City in 1954, Klein began her career as a fashion photographer in the late 1970s. She quickly gained recognition for her unique style, which blended elements of classic portraiture with a modern aesthetic.
Klein's work has been featured in numerous publications, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. She has also photographed many of the world's most famous celebrities, including Madonna, Cindy Crawford, and Naomi Campbell. In addition to her photography work, Klein has directed several music videos and short films.
Klein is also an accomplished author. Her books include Pools (1989), Poolside (1992), and Kelly Klein: Photographs (1995). In 2017 she released a memoir titled Picture This: A Visual Diary of My Life in Photography.
Klein has received numerous awards throughout her career, including the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Applied Photography (1996) and the Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Photography (2008). She currently lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
