Juan Guillermo Escobar Escobar is a Colombian photographer and visual artist based in Bogotá. He is best known for his work in documentary photography, which often focuses on the social and political issues of his home country.

Escobar was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1985. He studied photography at the National University of Colombia, where he graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and organizations. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and National Geographic.

In addition to his documentary work, Escobar has also created several art installations that explore themes of identity and belonging. His works have been exhibited at galleries around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Modern in London.

Escobar's work has earned him numerous awards, including the World Press Photo Award for Best Documentary Photography (2015) and the Prix Pictet Award (2016). He has also been recognized by organizations such as Amnesty International for his commitment to human rights issues.

Escobar continues to live and work in Bogotá, where he is currently working on a new project exploring the effects of climate change on rural communities in Colombia.
