John Edmonds is an American photographer and visual artist based in New York City. He is best known for his work in portraiture, fashion, and documentary photography.

Edmonds was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland. He attended the Corcoran College of Art + Design, where he studied photography and fine art. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue a career as a professional photographer.

Edmonds has worked with a variety of clients including The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, GQ, W Magazine, Nike, Adidas, and many more. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

In addition to his commercial work, Edmonds is also an avid street photographer who captures candid moments on the streets of New York City. His street photography has been featured in publications such as The Guardian and The New Yorker.

Edmonds’ work is characterized by its strong sense of composition and use of light to create powerful images that capture emotion and tell stories about the people he photographs. He often works with natural light to create beautiful portraits that are both intimate and honest.

John Edmonds’ photography has earned him numerous awards including PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers Award (2015), PDN’s Curator Award (2016), American Photography 32 (2017), Communication Arts Photography Annual (2018), and PDN’s Photo Annual (2019).

He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY where he continues to explore new ways of creating meaningful images that capture life’s moments both big and small.
