Jeroen W. Mantel is a Dutch photographer and visual artist based in Amsterdam. He is known for his unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people, nature, and technology.

Mantel was born in the Netherlands in 1975 and grew up surrounded by art and photography. His father was a professional photographer, which inspired him to pursue his own career in the field. After studying photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In 2003, Mantel began to focus on his own personal projects, exploring themes such as identity, memory, and the human condition. His work has been exhibited internationally at galleries such as Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, The Photographers’ Gallery London, and The Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago. He has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, TIME Magazine, and National Geographic Magazine.

Mantel’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the World Press Photo Award (2006), PDN 30 (2007), International Photography Awards (2008), Prix de la Photographie Paris (2009), Sony World Photography Awards (2010), and more recently the Magnum Photos 30 Under 30 Award (2015). In addition to his photographic practice, Mantel also teaches workshops around the world on topics related to photography and visual storytelling.
