Jeff Lipsky is an award-winning American photographer and director. He has been shooting professionally since the early 1980s, and his work has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Esquire, and Vanity Fair.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1958, Jeff Lipsky developed an interest in photography at a young age. He began taking pictures of his friends and family with a Kodak Instamatic camera that he received as a gift from his parents. After graduating from high school, he attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where he studied photography and filmmaking.

In the early 1980s, Jeff Lipsky began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. His work quickly gained recognition for its unique style and composition. He was soon hired by The New York Times Magazine to shoot celebrity portraits for their cover stories. His photographs have also appeared in GQ, Esquire, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, and many other publications.

In addition to his editorial work, Jeff Lipsky has directed several music videos for artists such as John Mayer and The Black Eyed Peas. He has also directed several short films that have been screened at film festivals around the world. In 2010 he released his first feature-length film titled “The Last Day of August” which won several awards at international film festivals.

Throughout his career Jeff Lipsky has received numerous awards for his photography including the Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Portraiture (2009) and the International Photography Awards Grand Prize (2010). His work is held in private collections around the world as well as public institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
