Jason Nocito is an American photographer and director based in Brooklyn, New York. He is best known for his vibrant and often surreal images that explore themes of identity, sexuality, and the human condition.
Nocito was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1979. He studied photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia before moving to New York City in 2001. After working as a freelance photographer for several years, he began to focus on his own personal projects. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, GQ, and Vice.
In addition to his photography work, Nocito has directed music videos for artists such as LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture. He has also directed commercials for brands such as Nike and Adidas. In 2017 he released his first feature-length film titled “The Unseen” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Nocito’s work has been exhibited internationally including shows at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His photographs are held in numerous public collections including those of MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
