James Macari

James Macari is an American fashion photographer who has been shooting for some of the world's most prestigious magazines and brands since the early 2000s. He is best known for his work with Sports Illustrated, Vogue, and Victoria's Secret.

Born in New York City in 1975, Macari grew up in a creative family. His father was a professional photographer and his mother was an artist. From a young age, he was exposed to the world of photography and art. After graduating from high school, he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied photography and film.

Macari began his career as an assistant to renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel before launching his own career as a freelance photographer in 2001. Since then, he has shot for some of the biggest names in fashion including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Elle, Marie Claire, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and Victoria's Secret. He has also worked with many celebrities including Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

In addition to his editorial work for magazines and brands, Macari has also created campaigns for companies such as Nike and Adidas. He has also directed music videos for artists such as Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber. In 2017 he released his first book titled "James Macari: A Life In Pictures". The book features some of his most iconic images from over the years along with personal stories about his life as a photographer.

Macari currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children where he continues to shoot editorial work for magazines around the world while also creating campaigns for major brands.
