Isabelle Wenzel is a renowned photographer and visual artist based in Berlin, Germany. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.
Born in 1982, Isabelle grew up in a small town near Berlin. From an early age, she was drawn to the visual arts, particularly photography. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and graduated with a degree in 2006.
After graduating, Isabelle began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers. Her work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, GQ, Elle, and The New York Times Magazine. She has also exhibited her work at galleries around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
In addition to her commercial work, Isabelle has also created several personal projects that explore themes such as identity, memory, and place. Her series “The Unseen” examines how people interact with their environment through photographs taken from unusual angles or perspectives. Her series “The Other Side” looks at how people are affected by their surroundings through portraits taken from different angles or perspectives.
Isabelle’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Series (2015) and the Prix Pictet (2016). In 2017 she was named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch.
Isabelle continues to push boundaries with her photography by exploring new ways of seeing and capturing moments that are often overlooked or unseen by others.
