Isabel Pinto is a Portuguese photographer and visual artist based in Lisbon. She has been working in the field of photography since the early 2000s, and her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.
Pinto's work is characterized by its focus on the human figure, often exploring themes of identity, gender, and sexuality. Her photographs are often intimate and personal, capturing moments of vulnerability and emotion. She has also explored themes of nature and landscape, creating images that evoke a sense of stillness and contemplation.
Pinto's work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Vogue Italia, Elle Portugal, Marie Claire France, GQ Portugal, among others. She has also collaborated with brands such as Nike, Adidas, Levi's, Diesel, Swatch and many more.
In addition to her photography practice Pinto is also an educator. She teaches workshops on photography at various institutions including the University of Lisbon and the University of Porto. She is also a mentor for young photographers through her organization “Fotografia em Movimento” (Photography in Motion).
Pinto's work has been recognized with several awards including the International Photography Award (IPA) for Best Fine Art Series (2015), the Sony World Photography Award for Best Professional Series (2016), and the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) for Best Professional Series (2017).
