Hype Williams is an American photographer, music video director, and film director. He is best known for his work in the music video industry, having directed videos for some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B.
Williams was born in New York City in 1971. He grew up in the Bronx and attended the High School of Art & Design. After graduating, he began working as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.
